In the future DVDRoast will support capture cards such as ivtv and bttv devices.
At first DVDRoast will seem a bit 'stiff and inflexible', it will look odd on your desk top. You might have to 'bend' the source code to get it to do what you want. But once it gets going I'll add much more functionality/flexibility.
Skins
Right now there is no good skin because I'm no graphic artist and its a low priority. You can help the development of DVDRoast by contributing new skins.
I have designed an interface that should be 'language independant', so it should be as easy to provide a Polish skin or Arabic skin as any other.
Once the initial release becomes available I'll provide the necessary information.
Requirements
A DVD burner:-)
A fast computer:-)
How fast? Hmmmmm, I got an Athlon XP2200, with 1G memory. I need faster CPU!!!
Seriously it takes about 1 1/2 hours to generate menus, maybe another hour and a half to generate the file system, create an iso image, test the image with xine and finally burn the image. Your mileage will varey depending on the amount of chapters you want.
If you need to generate suitable MPEG files yourself (eg. from bttv generated AVI files) you can add maybe 15 hours to the process:-)
ScreenShots
To wet your appitite here are some SnapShots taken from a test DVD I created with DVDRoast.
The first release will be available within the next couple of weeks.
